Finally..on sunday..the gang of Sesame street returns to action as we met up for yet another sushi session. Everytime we meet up, a lot of salmon dies. n that day..it was no different..

we wanted to meet up at town initially..but figured that we (actually onli addy) were too lazy to travel. So we decided to meet in tpy instead. N obviously..we know who suggested the meetin place..the ku ku that is capable of gettin lost in her own neighbourhood..

when we were confirmin details..i asked cookiemon to confirm with jason (brown) as i was driving. jason didn't pick up the phone and addy said "shit la..i'm afraid brown will sleep n forget abt it lo..". and right after..

addy falls aslp..

hur..hur..

point finger somemore..lol..

we finally met up at TPY's entertainment center n had sushi after sushi. Den we decided to pay addy's dad a visit at his stall n bein ever so nice he treated us to duck rice!..yum yum. But i couldnt realli eat much more..cos...once again..i am a light eater..lol

I may look happy..but i was forced..

But they r truly happy..

Minds Café | St James Powerhouse

alrite..i shall update my activities for the past one n haf weeks..finally..haha..been an eventful week.

met up with weiyuan to go queensway shoppin centre to shop on last last fri..u know..we've gotten quite sick of town..god knows we're there..EVERY..SINGLE..day..durin semester time..

i took like 15 mins to reach there and another 15 mins just to queue and enter queensway shoppin centre's carpark..its insane. The queue stretched all the way to the main road..and it was a weekday afternoon!!

In the end..weiyuan went to look for me in the 'queue' and dats where we met up instead..

it is by far..the worst car park i have ever driven into..even including those i've been to in M'sia. although it wasnt the first time i was there..but this time it realli grabbed my attention. The lots were limited and small..

weiyuan had to alight b4 i could park cause basically..there would onli be space for one door to open..n i hav no intention of climbin over him or vice versa jus to get out of the car..lol..

N even when i finished parkin the car..a big part of it was protruding out of the lot..

n its not like i was veri far away from the back wall..i wasnt..(check pic below)..it was nearly kissin it alreadi..

sigh..n e carparks had pot holes all over..realli feels like m'sia..lol..

anyway..we got on to our shoppin n sad to say there wasnt much to buy. i onli got myself a t-shirt. But the sales person was veri friendly though..she started chattin with me by openin with "r u studyin in uni now?"..n i'm like.."what?..do i have a university face??"..haha..

it is a rare thing that i'm linked with anythin academic by 1st impression..i dunno..i jus dun hav the 'study' look...tsk tsk..looks can be deceiving..haha. If i'm on the train..or waiting for someone or something..u can bet ur last dollar that i'll be reading a book (no..i'll not be people or chio bu watchin..) and you can bet ur last cent that it will not be a story book. Haha. It will ALWAYS be a business related book..

n i tink she must have felt like killin me cos i guessed her age at 19 when she was onli 17..ops..with all dat make up sometimes its hard to tell..hee..but we exchanged cards n contacts anyway..so..i guess there's no hard feelings?..lol..

weiyuan n i ended up in Ikea after a while..somehow we could smell swedish meatball all the way from queensway shopping centre..hee..n basically..dat place reminded us of our past..

It was alreadi a mess when i took the pic..hunger got the better of us...

After e meatballs..we den headed down to esplanade to meet rio and su xian..i haven been there for while now and colours by the bay dun seem to have dat much colours these days..although the rest of the building has more crowd now.

we eventually tucked in at Thai Express...n i love their glass noodles..though it wasnt wat i had dat nite..

Exhibits @ Esplanade

after dinner..we headed down to minds at clarke quay for some board games..n for some reason..i can nv rem the names of the games i play..ive been there so many times n the onli game i realli rem is blokus..tsk tsk..selective memory..

Clark Quay

i den had supper no.1 (cos it turns out dat i had more than one dat nite) at minds. btw..their beef lasagna is good! But..dats not wat i had either..haha..

while i was gaming away..faith, sylvia, qiang n his colleagues were waitin for me at St James..n i had to go cos..i promised to..n i always keep promises..haha..

so by ard 1am..we took off n headed to St James. btw again..Finding a petrol kiosk in town is a chore!

rio n weiyuan headed home cos hm..they were in non-clubbin attire. Believe it or not..i haven been clubbing for a long long time..n i haven been to St James till dat nite..basically..i had better things to fill my time lately.

It was a fun time there..n who u club with realli makes alot of diff. I saw sylvester sim as he performed on stage in dragonfly..n i have to say i was disgusted to bits. He had white long hair..n wore white singlet and pants on stage..he was fair and realli skinny with tattoos all over..he looked like a ghost..

n while performin..sylvester pointed his middle finger to some of the 'ah lians' and even crossed it thru his legs, underneath his groin..sigh..n thru out the whole time..he was adjusting his guitar effects..strummin n testin..n nth seem to work. But the band was still playin fine with or without him. Meaning to say..his onli contribution is..to point fingers..hahaha..

i mean i couldnt hear wat he was playin as well..n den i realised he wasnt playin..haha..jus..strummin a guitar that is connected to probably nth. n his whole behavior realli jus puts me off..irk..

we left the club at abt 3 plus 4..n headed down to river valley road for supper no.2..but i din realli hav appetite though. i am a veri light eater these days..

time to start another new day.

n i din hav a chance to slp cos i was supposed to drive my bro to NYJC for his award ceremony..n admission talk at SMU SOA. I also had to meet up Jun Chen to do some stuff..n by the time i gotten some slp..it was alreadi sat nite (Chelsea vs Man U)..n nth..could hav prevented me frm slpin..lol..

n luckily i did..the match was a bore..n i had no intentions of watching chelsea lift the F.A Cup.
Apologies

as i was reading up on the saga of UNSW (University of New South Wales)...it suddenly struck me that there was a gal named rachel who left a few messages on my cbox some time ago. In the midst of chatting with her via cbox..she revealed that she was from UNSW and I casually asked her when her school was starting.

Upon asking that question, she replied "why so kaypo, mind your own business can or not?". Reading her comments..i just lost my interest to continue my conversation with her and just replied "whatever junior..".

Now looking bac, i'm tinkin she might have had news of the UNSW saga and decision to pull out way before it was made public and before it was made known to me. My casual question of "when is ur sch starting?" may have sparked some uneasy feeling and frustration to the situation and would explain her hostile reply in "why so kaypo, mind your own business can or not?".

Thus...

Rachel, if my ignorance has caused any negative feelings towards or within you, I sincerely apologise for it.

P.S> Shall update more of my recent happenings soon.
Financial Literacy Training

I finally started my first training class with speedb as a facilitator...n the first assignment was at Pasir Ris Crest Secondary school to teach money management skills. It is not exactly my first spell as a trainer for secondary school students though as I have held character education workshops in ZHSS too.

it was a project my team initiated from scratch, convinced schools to let us conduct the trainings and our syllabus was eventually adopted by the Singapore Boys' Home as part of their curriculum. This time round..its a bit diff...in the sense that i did not really have the flexibility to change many things in the course. (if i could..it would be an entirely diff course with same teachings)

I had to leave home early becos like the name suggest..e school is located in Pasir Ris..n i'm like in good old serangoon garderns..but its not like i'm complaining..no where is that far in Singapore to be inaccessible..

When i got there..I was sent to class 3/4 which was a normal acad class..which was a good thing..as I felt i could relate to them better being once from it as well..in fact..when i held my own training at ZHSS..it was towards normal acad classes as well..I tink they are a joy to work with..and many was interested to hear my stories as well..abt my struggles to excel in poly..until how i finally fought off competitions from both poly n JCs to make it to e uni of my first choice (1 in 9 applicants to SMU biz...brag abit..lol..)..

i rem stayin bac after my workshop talkin to some of the students..who were sick of being looked down upon..n some even contacted me in msn after to tell me they were now motivated to strive for the best (maximum satisfaction for my team n I..hee)

but i din reveal to the students at Pasir Ris Crest though..simply becos I wasnt the one kicking things off on the first day..normally in my workshops i would..as it is much easier to create the connection when they know they're with someone who was in the exact same shoes not too long ago..

"hur-hur...i have secret pics of my own!!"

to be honest..i felt the way the workshop started was a pretty lousy way to do so..It is just like a rock concert..it has to start with a bang..to spark interest and set the tone..cos e moment u've lost the first impression..u'll nv get it bac..

this is y gd training companies have their trainings in halls..with speakers, music and activities to kick things off..to shake off the lethargic mentality to enter the 'play-as-you-learn' mode of doin things which is crucial for students who are more right-brained and easily bored (jus like me).

there r no 'stupid' or 'dumb' students..just ineffective ways of teaching..n i felt we werent adopting innovative and cutting edge methods of teaching. Although i am aware some of the trainers would prefer to have gotten express classes..it was very much a lack of education on neuro patterns..hence the misunderstanding. Not dat I have a phD in NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programing)..but at least i bother to read up..n understand ppl like me..

I was very much understudying the manner the courses were conducted the first 2 days..it was onli e third day that i took over and conducted the seminar instead. But I onli gotten the training materials 10pm the night before the third day and there was very limited fluff and activities that I could plan for. My personal objective was to make them feel it was fun to learn..n activities..props..and rewards were key to make it work..which i did not have the luxury of time to do so. So long as it's not fun to learn..nothing will be learnt..

nonetheless..i tried my best the following day. I have to admit it was not as good as I would have wanted it to be...but I feel there was at least progress..spotting response from some students dat were otherwise slpin in the first 2 days..

on the whole..they were playful students to say the least..haha..who could blame them..i sometimes still am..haha..n i rem this boy asking me "who will choose? Girlfriend, mother or work?"

and jus cos i was reluctant to answer that..

they concluded: "Must be girlfriend la!!"

and i'm like: "I didn't say that."

They: "I know one! Cos I saw you and your girlfriend kissing outside!"

and i'm like: "What rubbish!! I dun even have one!!"

haha..i'm like how shy can..

n there was even a student who secretly took pictures while i was teachin..(which was later 'bao-tou' by her frens)...sigh..i hope i wasnt doin some ugly or chor-lor (unglam) gestures..lol..

some of the gals wanted to take pictures at the end of the third day (how honoured I feel..haha)..n i have yet to receive any!! except for one..thanks nabilah!..i realli hope they will send me the rest though..

it was a veri enjoyable time spent over at Pasir Ris Crest..and I sincerely hope they have learnt something..even though dat was wat they said. If given the chance to go back there and teach again..i would have no qualms abt jumpin on the wagon and doin so..

but seriously..with more time and resources..i'm sure the effect of the workshop will be entirely different..
Mothers Day

Its been one week since i've blogged..been a packed week really..n i shall back date all the way to last last fri..11th May..

went to Pearl River Palace to celebrate Mothers' Day. It was done on the fri cos mum nv liked Mothers' Day Set dinners..so yeap...we gone there for their ala-carte buffet...

It was rumored to be good...annnnd...rumors were true! Haha. Particularly their Buddha-Jump-Over-The-Wall. We were onli allowed one serving each person probably due to the fact that the ingredients were expensive.

overall..there wasnt any dish dat was disappointing..but their roasted duck was realli good! And so were so many things...salad prawn rolls, Cereal prawns, steam prawns, peking duck, scallop toast, coffee pork ribs, steamed fish and i had endless servings of Salmon Sashimi..mm...nice! haha..

One of the appetizers

Roasted Duck..yum!

Diggin away..

Peking Duck

Salad Prawn Rolls

Sashimi!!

Mouthful of goodness..

Cereal Prawn..

Wasabi!!!

And even more sashimi..

Scallop on toast

to top off the meal..there was a small range of deserts being served as well..mango puddings..durain puddings..royal jelly..some cakes and other deserts dat i was too full to try.

Durain Pudding..

At the end of e meal..i was bloated..haha..a rare state i'm in these days..given my small appetite now.. n i reckon its a place worth visitin again..though it is not exactly cheap..$30++ a meal..not cheap by my poor boi's standard though..

After the meal...my mum went to check out balaclava...what cool parents i have eh..but we din stay long as my parents din like noisy places though..

Check out the yahoo logo..so cute..n it was animated..
-pay attention to what was being searched too!!-
