realli alot of things to update..haha..all in one day..since lesson is borin todae..i decided to multi-task and attend lesson n write blogs at same time..Lol..

anyway..i played a couple of gigs with alvin at the esplanade..on the last few friday evenings..and have to say..i miss perfomin in the public..feels great to be bac..haha..not dat i was realli there and big..but its kinda fun though..playin for ppl..and gettin butterflies in my tummy..i'm veri shy one ok..haha..

e next show will prob be in Oct though..with alvin of co..the wonder singers..its always an acoustic set at esplanade for us..for now..u shud hear him sing man..pro!..haha..but now we're kinda workin on gettin the full band to work..in sch..so once we're ready..we'll rock the school!..Lol..

Regular Day in SMU...

After about a month plus at SMU.. ... ...i'm still slackin like ever..Lol..but yeah..startin my engines slowly..but more imptly..i still kinda like it here..though everythin is expensive..(Spend Money University)..Lol..n everythin is hectic..but i like the interactive part though..esp some of the activities in LTB..and also how open the culture here is..

I was pretty surprised to be honest..when i first got here..with the degree of openness..noteably when i attended a seminar on the International Trading Track..whereby we had CEOs from various companies tradin various commodities..

What really struck me was the way the professors posted qns towards the guest speakers..the veri CEOs that are headin the leadin companies in the global market place. stuffs like "veri few traders are ladies..r u bias on gender?..viewin ladies as the weaker sex?" and "in the past..u said traders shud not be fresh from university..and now u'r poachin SMU grads..is that a mistake in judgement on ur part in the past?".

I felt that was veri veri straight forward..and wats more strikin is that after bein asked probin qns..the speakers applauded it..sayin onli in an open environment like this..will ppl realli maximise their potentials. Cool huh..haha..i guess Spore is realli liberalisin..headin towards openness..and i'm 100% up for it!..haha..saya anti-tradition one..

And this talks are held every single week..on different topics...marketin..finance..retail..property..too many to name..and i muz take my hat off..as to how the school manages to get so many CEOs to come down on a weekly basis.

Networkin sessions normally follows in the reception whereby ppl exchange name cards..n u'd be surprised how many students are alreadi part-time biz owners..(worse come to worse..give SMU name cards..Lol)..and these r realli realli excellent chances to network with the RIGHT people (and not ppl in mlm..Lol)..ppl with knowledge..power and rite mindsets..

But i haven been able to go for many seminars and talks though..too tied down with proj..gym and band practice..Lol..but realli got to make the best of these chances..

Creative Learning @ Zhonghua Secondary School...
Day 1..

After weeks of planning..and re-plannin...and organizin..and negotiatin..and ... blah blah blah... ...we were finally in ZHSS..for our Creative Learning Workshop - Character Education. and in the 1st day..we had the pail activity.

In the pail activity..students were given 4 cue cards (rep time spent) and crushed newspaper balls (rep task). They were den required to write 4 things dat they spend the most time doin in each week..one on each cue card..

In the activity, there is also a pail..The openin in the pail represents the amount of time in a week and students are required to throw the crushed newspaper (rep task) balls into the pail to represent the completion of each task.

With every ball thrown into the pail..one cue card will be placed at the mouth of the pail, narrowin the openin. After about 2 rounds of throwin by each member of the group, they found that the openin is now too narrow to be thrown into.

the morale of the game is that in life..u cant do every single thing..u have to learn to prioritise ur time and activities. Also, in a grp..when u have ppl makin selfish decisions and givin priority to personal interest e.g. spendin tonns of time playin games (one of the most popular activities of the students)..u find that there is a high chance of the team not achievin their targets..and thus failin as a team as a whole..due to a few selfish decisions.

when things like this happen..u'd face not onli failure..but also discrimination..and probs with acceptance..cool activity?..wait till u see the remainin of our games..Lol..

Day 2..

Day 2 was held in the Students' Centre where we played a game called frenzy. Oh boy..they are realli realli a rowdy crowd..Lol...

The game started with newspaper crushed balls in the centre..located in a hoop..in order for teams to win..they muz have every single ball in their hoops...and everybody is entitled to hold on to onli 2 balls...naturally...everyone went and scrambled for watever they could grab...pushin and shovin each other..

Stealin each other's balls...depositin into their own hoops and gettin their balls stolen by others..and the cycle continues..

thats where we started to prompt them dat the hoops can be moved..and that more than 1 team can win..dats where they all started to realli analyze the situation..and goin around convincin opposing teams of the situation where they can all win..

Finally..they gathered all the balls bac to the centre..and placed all the hoops into the centre too..formin the scene whereby all the balls r in everybody's hoops..

smart kids huh! haha..In life..you dun always hav to go head-to-head with ur competitors..u can create a Win-Win situation too..jus like Sony & Ericsson..both were gettin slaughtered in the mobile communication world..but once they merged..wonders occured..

wat can i say?..brillant kids..students from ZHSS r all brillant..Lol...like me..haha..and of cos..we muz give credit to the brillant instructors too..n...that includes me again!! Lol..

LTB Plannin...

Its been a couple of weeks once again...since i've updated my blog..haha...seems like this is the standard entry template from now on..Lol..even victoria has complaint abt the blog being dead..lol..cant blame me la..busy ma...and like all times...got tonns of stuff to upload..haha..

Time flies when u're busy..7 = 4 + 3 has alreadi completed 2 workshops with Zhonghua Secondary School...and next we'll be goin to Spore Boys Home to spread the success of our self-created workshop and syllabus...

But like always...nth was easy...e amount of time we put together to make this work was incredible..i thot i would nv belong to the grp that has contracted the late-school staying disease..or at least not in 1st yr..but hai...LTB had to make it all happen..haha..but still it was great fun though..viewin that i have World Class Team mates..it was still enjoyable..haha..

LTB Poster Presentation

Haha..yeah..last mon was LTB’s poster presentation..as we will be goin bac to Zhonghua Secondary School to conduct workshops and lessons..we thot wouldn’t it be appropriate if we presented our poster session in ZHSS uniform?? Esp when we were reminded to be open and creative..Haha..and so the idea was agreed..

I had lots of prob tryin to locate uniforms for everyone in the grp..frankly speakin..i dun even have one for myself!!..

But fortunately..there was Yukina!..haha..she was so so so extremely helpful in helping me find uniforms for my grp mates..in fact..she was the one that found every single piece that we got to exhibit durin the presentation! And she isn’t even in my grp..hell..she isn’t even takin this module tis sem!..n we’ve onli known each other for..hm..7days?..lol..

There u go..u can see how nice she is..now that’s wat I call a Japanese gurl with a golden heart..haha…god bless Japan…hee..kiddin..at least not b4 blessin Singapore..

But nonetheless…our presentation would not have had that effect if not for the uniforms..so once again..Thank you so much Yukina..

RaDio dJ..

followin the bash..i was left voiceless for 2 days..man..i hate not being able to talk properly..Lol..but as soon as i got my voice bac slightly..i hit the studio with gaston on satfor a demo set as campus radio DJs..

however..to our greatest horror...the studio was sufferin from the aftermath of a sewage leak..oh my god!..yeah..gross..and the studio reali stink..haha..fortunately..recordin did not take that long..

we were taught basic stuffs such as mixer controls..settin music beds and creatin loops etc..which gaston is alreadi well versed in..being a scratch DJ himself..and me?..i..had nth to bring with me to the studio..but a mouth full of crap..lol..

we spend abt 5 mins plannin wat to say on air..and den dat we jus hit the recordin..and what we discussed thru the recordin..stays in the recordin..haha..was considerin whether to upload it or not..but after much considerations and fear for our lives..i decided not to..haha..we would hav been public enemy no.1!..haha..

SMU Freshmen Bash

As usual..i've been busy..haha..n now i'm bac to dust off the cobweb from my blog..its been a hectic hectic week..packed with loads of activities..lol..but one of the highlights of last week was the SMU Freshmen Bash..

Prior to this..I haven visited MoS for hm...3 months?..yeah..ard there..haven been clubbin alot lately..but i muz say i had fun at the bash..haha..meetin lots of new ppl as well as old frens..guess wat?...brudder brudder Yinghui and stupid dog Roland turned up..Lol...kwel kwel!..haven seen them since school term started..roland's been busy in hostel and lessons...n i've been busy in proj and functions..and hui..hm...still busy lookin at gals and potential gf in SIM..hahah..somehow he still tinks that SIM = Singapore Institute of Matchmaking. haha.
