been havin a few frens break up..divorce..lately..
i spot many similarities between those stories..
they all say...
"why am i so unlucky?"
"when will i meet e rite guy/girl?"
"why does this always happen to me?"
"I cant believe it happened to me again!"
"He/she was never like that back then."
n here is wad i have always said to some of them when they split/break up...
"Stop getting attached within a week of knowing them!"
"Stop diving head first into relationships with ppl u hardly know!"
"try to understand yourself!"
"Stop being rash! THINK for once!"
"THINK before u sign on the marriage certificate!"
n each time upon me saying that...they dive straight into yet another new rship...

n this time round..the diving goes on.

yes..i'm finally bac to where i call home..
i miss e food here! i like western food alrite..but..aft some 60 str western meals...
i would like some asian now..
when i touched down at Changi International Airport (CIA)..i had a welcomed sense of familiarity..
seeing the airport i recognize..even seeing familiar airlines! (there's so many airlines i've seen for e first time in europe)
when i patron e DFS...i was treated to great service and really helpful staff even though it was pretty plain obvious i'm a fellow Singaporean. It made me feel proud dat our service standards, while not the best YET, is actually better than some european nations.
i've been unable to blog cos i was busy settling some admin stuff n also i've began my work as Research Assistant (RA) in SMU. But i'll post pics soon! (I have more than 3000 pics n videos!)
i went to grab a haircut a few days back..cos..i was startin to hav a jungle thingy growing on my head..
n as i headed out..i actually had a little bit of adjusting back to do!
Adjusting back..
all of a sudden..cars r right hand driven. when i cross roads..i looked left first! n realised i was lookin at e wrong direction! haha..
the singapore road system is really really simple as compared to europe..our lanes..r onli for cars..haha..
as the mrt moved along e track across the road..i was left thinking.. "hm..the mrt..realli moves VEEERY slowly.." (not to forget..our mrt lines r soooo simple! not complicated in any sense!)
wad i realli noticed was how our locals dress..i dunno y...e Europeans dress up everywhere they go..even if its to the market. prob partly due to our climate..we..hm..r always in super casual stuff..haha..
while i was away..i would spot fellow Asians...but here..we're everywhere!..haha..all of a sudden..there r so little whites..n i actually understood every word dat ppl were sayin..haha..
i love my home country..although..i love travelling too..i shall return to e EU soon..its a great place to travel..
next..i'm going to japan in aug...
n after japan..i shall make plans for e states..i wanna see wall street one day! (stupid shuwei..stop showing off wall street photos to me!) he even visited Wharton in University of Pennsylvania! Ivy league..donald trump..n more imptly..its e Sch that SMU is officially modeled after..
alritey..bac to my RA work now..
i shall blog abt europe ctry by ctry..since it would be crazy to talk abt day by day..(i'll hav to make so many post!)

Meet @ Swedish Ambassador's Home
The Swedish Ambassador invited us to his place for a warm reception last wed and we were really grateful for e opportunity.
Although it was a little ulu, located at Andrew Road (near media corp), the mansion (which belonged to e embassy of sweden) was huge and beautiful!
Gardens...private pool...
Entering the walkway, we were greeted by e male house servants (which were locals!). I'm not sure if i hav met a local servant b4 (let alone male)...but they are all young, educated and really polite!
e place was filled with beautiful candles and swedish designed furnitures...
even e toilet was posh!..which resembled those u hav in hotels...with face towels provided etc..
There were a variety of ppl dat was invited to the event so dat we can hav a good round of interactions...from head of science research..to venture capitalists focusing on swedish brands..to even swedish undergrads interning in e embassy in Singapore.
We were treated to danish and swedish delights at the mansion...open sandwiches etc...prepared by a danish chef who was jus flown into Singapore to prepare meals for e ambassador..(wad great living!)..n e food was needless to say..fantastic!...we were treated to unlimited Lakerol too...they are of cos...swedish..lol..
i didn't take pics when we were in there..since it was an official SMU event with external parties..wouldnt hav reflected well.
we realli learnt a great deal at these exchanges and though e course is expensive..it is definitely worth it!
In e interaction with e undergrads frm sweden..i learnt something incredible! I was aware that their tax rates were abt 50% (n u thot spore tax was high!)...but wad i did not know was dat when we stay in a hostel/hotel in the city..we pay e hotel fees, service charges..And....CITY TAX! I was.."wad's city tax?" n they explained..u have to pay..for entering the city...
n i was amazed!..i felt like i was a car!..with a inbuilt cashcard unit..n i'm being charged ERP..*di-di*(buzz from IU)*

Young Scandinavian Executive Meet @ Indochine (Forbidden City)
Part of my Business Study Mission (BSM) to Scandinavia..was to go chill and meet some young scandinavians workin in spore...
how cool is dat?class @ indochine...
it was made possible courtesy of... .... ... *ta-dah* none other than clarence n me!...haha..jk...but..yeah to some extend its true..cos we brought to e prof's attention abt Johan..a 33 yr old swedish guy who is doin a full time course in SMU. I admire his determination n courage..comin half way ard e world...to sch here. i'm amazed dat ppl in Sweden knows abt SMU!
Anywayz...many thanx to Johan for bridging the gap and bringing us to the mthly meeting between e scandinavian executives..
Later in e nite..Johan offered to get us into a private event for a magazine's opening party. we were skeptical as to whether we could get in cos..we werent realli invited...n quoting Johan..he jus said "i dunno if we can get in..but they prob want some white guys ard..its a launch party".
n how rite he was!
he went up to e bouncer..spoke to him abt him being scandinavians..n they let him in!..n he jus told them we are 'with him'...n we got let in too! gosh..they realli favour caucasians here...
but hey..i'm grateful to johan..he nv ever says no to us! n we've got freeflow of housepours at e private event...with lots of beautiful models. for e first time in spore..i felt outnumbered! the place was filled with foreign counterparts...chinese were minority!
n with all e beautiful ppl frm all over e world...i reacted...byyyyyy....
leaving e party early. lol. yes. dats cos ver was flying over to HK for a shopping trip over e weekend..n to visit disneyland..n we thot we'd catch glimpse of each other b4 she flies e next morn..
