maybe u'r just dat terrible...

maybe i'm just scared...

maybe thats y i haven resurrected..

maybe...i dunno...

but this has to stop...
Blood Donation | Endless Suppers

Blogger has been givin me so much problems..and they dun seem to be bothered..sigh..dats y i haven been posting..

to show u what i'm talkin abt...refer pic below..

n rite now..it is still like dat..i have to look for 'hidden' and 'invisible' buttons to do this post..hai..n for buttons dat cant be located...i have to use tags...this is super old sch...who blogs with tags..

in any case..i went to the blood bank @ HSA that day with clarence...since we're both regular donars..and we're due for our next donation. It was my first time donating at the bank itself..all my previous 6 donations were at mobile drives in schools (NYP & SMU)..

but as usual..the team at HSA is always friendly towards blood donars..esp when some donars are 23, smart, charming and absolutely irresistible..hahaha..

after the usual chat with the doctors and some test..the doc told me to drink more water as my blood pressure was a little on the low side dat day..and dat was the first time i knew that water could actually help increase pressure..pardon me..was nv trained as a medic or anything close..all i did was poke needles into my troopers and vice versa..

when i got into the donation room..i was sat down immediately..n den i noticed this middle aged guy sitting by the door who had just finished donating..it was his first donation..i presume..

i gathered my conclusion becos when the needles r finally extracted from our veins..the nurse would present us with a gauze that we're supposed to press against the wound. The nurses will den help bandage it to help the wound close.

Instead of waiting..the guy took the gauze..pressed against the wound..n left the room...

n i was..wat???

n a few minutes later...he rushed bac into the room with blood gashing down his arms and blood spurting all over the floor..

ohooooo....wat a sight man..haha..

Cleaning the blood off the floor..

so there u go..dats how i concluded it was his first time..n i dun tink anyone will disagree with my analysis..haha..

i got on with my donation just fine..except that the senior nurse commented that i had a lot of 'ba' (flesh) on my arm..hey hey..gym is payin off..haha..n partly due to the years of guitar playin as well..

To numb the pain..

The real needle..

When I finally took enough pictures.

i finished my donation pretty quickly in about 5 to 7 minutes..(sometimes i wonder do i hav high blood pressure)...n clarence was onli half done..dats where the nurse complained to clarence.."why u so slow???..can faster anot..".. n clarence was stunned..and said..den u poke a few more needles lo..haha..

some ppl often asked me..y do i donate..its so scary..n looks painful..n troublesome (cos u cant exert strength for a day or 2)..n my reply is..I believe in giving...lol..

I got no money la...what do u expect?..i'm a poor boy..so i give my blood..

in anycase..u cant buy blood with money...and i honestly believe that the best way to receive..is to give..n someday..when I need help..I will onli receive it when I have alreadi given something..
Disclaimer: I'm not a religious person..no rocker is..but nonetheless...i believe god exist..

towards the end..the nurse came over with a pink bandage..and i was like.."huh..can dun wan pink??"..n somehow..the whole room burst into laughter..tsk tsk..all the ppl eavesdropping..

Endless Suppers...

of late..supper has been like my norm of life..just dat with diff ppl..thank god for being kind to me..n not giving me a tummy like qiang has although i deserve credit for goin gym alot these days too..haha..

$2.30 for.. ...Air??

Thats not my hand..of cos..it cant be dat ugly..lol..

at one particular nite at Simpang Bedok..i was with Rio, Sentill, Su xian, Wei yuan and ryan..n somehow we touched on the topic of homosexuality..which Rio somehow wasnt aware of...n we decided to make fun of him since some of his gym postures looked veri gay..

n i said "Rio likes to bend over (the dirty kind of way)..."..suddenly realizing that we're talkin abt him..Rio replies "YA! I bend over everyday!!..."...n we all burst out into laughter...Hahahaha

Rio thought we were talking abt his warm up regime..lol...n he's like.."Whats wrong with bending over???!?!?!"...n we laughed even louder..i tink we would have affected the appetite of neighbouring tables..lol..

so now we know..haha..

n that reminded me of the BSM (Business Study Mission) dat we had at Batam..with my BGS classmates. I was chewing n blowing my bubble gum away while walking in one of the factories..and out of a sudden..Sophia spotted me chewing and came excitedly up to me and said: "Alan!! I WANT TO BLOW!!"....n we all flipped n exploded... .. i almost spat out my gum..

n i replied.."cannot...i veri innocent one.."...lol..hey!..dats the truth..

controlling my laughter..i asked her.."what are u goin to do after u blow.."..n unaware of what we're laughing abt..she answered "Spit it out la! Den swallow meh??"...dat sent us into further laughter...lol..

oh..so now we know..lol..she's no Zoe Tay..

many discoveries made these days..

n when she realised wat we were laughing abt..she turned totally red...hahaha..

always remember..tink b4 u say somethin..it may come bac to haunt..like it still does her..lol..
Wealth Academy

Alrite..u prob hav noticed..that i haven been ard to post too much.. This is becos i've been away on course the past week..e course i was waiting for - Wealth Academy - by AKLTG finally commenced. It is highly anticipated by me becos in my opinion, this is more worthwhile than any..n i mean ANY university module has to offer.

It was a course with practical application possibilities and sets u to take action and workable strategies immediately. All in all..i felt it was great value for money although i painfully paid around 3k for the course. But the course is actually a 18mth package..which included booster sessions..follow ups..post course workshops..helpline and many other value adding services. Thus to me..it was 3k well spent.

activities to get everyone going..

It was held at the expo and commenced at 9am daily and ends at 1am in the morning..which shows how packed and how slp deprived i was..

Thru this course..i further understood y AKLTG (Adam Khoo Learning Technologies Group) is currently the best training company in Singapore in both the school and private sector. Cos they practice what they preach..' Always over deliver'.

Although I have seen and spoke to adam in person for quite a few times..i have nv attended any of his courses. I was curious to see how he manages to win the acclaim of so many trainees in the past. Not that i doubted his abilities...(if i hav i would not hav bought his books)..but i wanted to see for myself why he commands up to $1000/hr just as a speaker.

Adam Khoo . Alan Phua

The coaches that helped make the course possible

He was able to keep interest of the audience up and while he teaches many concepts..he was able to make it a joy to listen to him and also link up to the demographics. From his course materials...researches...content...i could see that a lot of work has gone into making the course the success it is now. The amount of content was unbelievable..and even though i majored in finance..and investment b4 SMU..i have to say he (together with conrad) has really shown me strategies that blew me away. The very same strategies that Warren Buffett and George Soros used to make their millions and billions with little or no risk at all.

This is why i said..it is in my opinion..more worthwhile than any modules that any university has to offer. Like the likes of Bill Gates, Jeff Begoz, Steve Jobs and Robert Kiyosaki says.."success has got very little(if any) to do with school".

Andrew . Clarence . Alan

Clarence went to the course with me..and he was in a critical mood..since he too had to pay 3k for it. And after being critical for the 4 days course..he too realized that..it was realli a course packed with value and was worth the money..guess we both needed some directions and pushing as well..

At the course..there were veri veri little ppl dat were from the same age group as clarence and I was..n that was not necessarily a bad thing..cos we were able to network with many different talents that has got expertise that we could tap on. For the first time..i actually ran out of name cards to exchange with ppl..and that reminded me to always carry extra cards..esp at events such as this..

researchin..n somehow..andrew took my pic..

alot of the fellow course mates alreadi hav their own families..and were faced with many constrains that I currently do not have..and they all said the same things.. "I wish I knew all these concepts..when I was at ur age.."..and it further re-affirmed my belief that this is my time..to go out and just chase my dreams..

at lunch time

on day 3 and 4 of the program..we were veri much in depth into value investing, momentum investing, options trading and more importantly..chart patterns and technical analysis which makes all the other forms of investing possible..I was stretched to be honest..although i have seen most of the techniques b4..but it is making it work together that is hard..and i am still brushin up and learnin the trade..

Japanese Candlestick reversal trends

Bullish and Bearish Engulfing

Piercing, Harami patterns...

Standard 7 analysis (Non-candlestick)

this is the first ever Wealth Academy that has featured Conrad..an investment expert and guru that went bankrupt learning the trade..was heavily in debt and had all his assets seized (except for a chair that the bank left him). Although he was once down..he was nv out..n he told himself he has to master e art no matter what..and true enough..after clearing his debt..he is now comfortably making about US15k per mth just by clickin..

when he demonstrated jus how he performs scalping (intraday trading that makes him a few hundred dollars in a few minutes)..I began to realise..his concepts are veri real..and veri workable..in fact..he posts his analysis on his website everyday before the US market opens..and he is never far from the actual performance..he now has got followers all over the world.

depsite being the master of the trade..he is surprisingly a veri sincere person who carried no air at all with him. The fact that he and adam unselfishly shares concepts and knowledge further shows how humble a person he is..he has truly won my respect..

durin the course..there were games that involved real money which we were supposed to contribute..which e consolidated amount adds up to become the prize money..of all the games..it was the 'trading floor' that i felt was the most beneficial..like they always preach..games are a reflection of our true self. The game was a simulated stock market trading floor which was very much similar to the real thing..and when real money is involved..u realli see the real behaviors of ppl..everyone was runnin around..there were ppl panickin..there were ppl pointin fingers and blaming one another..there were ppl who were greedy who refused to take profits when markets were up..n ppl who refused to let egos go and cut loss when their analysis was wrong...

the game was held in a real time condition whereby prices changed every 6 seconds and that sent many ppl into panick mode...the whole room was noisy and chaotic..there were ppl who spent out of their means..went bankrupt..ppl who took loans from 'loan sharks'..n lost everything..

After a session of trading..the place is a mess..jus like SIMEX used to be..

and i have to admit..my team didn't do well on the first trading floor game..starting with a capital of $25,000...we onli managed to end up with $27,500 (2,500 profit)..which was way behind the top performers who managed ending balances of 3 or 4 times ours..

debriefing after trading floor

after the game..i din feel gd..cos..i din like to lose..i dun tink anyone does..so i went to analyze our trades..our behaviors..and what made the others succeed..and realized we were too conservative..not utilizing our funds..

thus..the followin day..we strategized..changed our game plan..remained calm..n gone for the kill..

and our efforts paid off..starting with a capital of $25,000...we finished with $365,000..achieving a return of $340,000...which saw us finish 3rd in the trading floor..and entitled my team to real profits..and real prize money..(covered all our losses in previous days and paid for my meals and midnight cab..hee hee)..I went up to the stage to collect the prize on behalf of my team..n realized like they say at the course..anyone can do anything..its jus a matter of using the rite strategy..

alan . Conrad (the master) . Clarence

but in reality..there are still alot to be learnt b4 I can label myself investment ready..n rite now..there are still tonns of course materials i have yet to read up on..so..its still early days..but i hav to get myself ready..b4 e U.S slips into a recession and stocks become realli cheap..buy low..sell high..

Jun Chen . Conrad

now..that the course has ended and gone into post course period..it is all about taking action..and i am still in midst of drafting my plans..n so is clarence..n prob most of other course mates..but I am confident..that we can achieve many things that we have not done so previously..and even if we do not succeed anytime soon..we will continue to chase our dreams..cos there r no failures..there are onli feedbacks..

The new Apprentice

I stayed up all nite to watch the last 2 episodes and finale of The Apprentice Season 6...i hav to admit that i am a big big fan of the reality show..cos it has veri much to do with business and there are actually lessons you can derive from the show..what makes it more interesting is how ppl fight for their lives in the boardroom and how teams build and fall apart..

this is actually the first season of any reality series that I actually supported and wanted a candidate to win. In fact..i dun even watch much of reality series..i wun be shy to hide dat i haven seen a full episode of american idol or any superstar shows..b4 the end of each episode..i would have changed the channel..or walked away..
In this season of the Apprentice..there was this guy from Korea who realli impressed me alot with his capabilities and also leadership..he migrated to the states at age of 4 and grew up in Houston, Texas and Seattle, Washington.

at age 18..he took $5000 and started a technology investment fund and turned it into 2 million dollars by age 23..while still doing his degree in business and computer information systems form university of Washington. He graduated as a millionaire...growing up from a humble family who came to the states with veri little money. Upon graduation..he joined a Fortune 500 company and earned a 6-digit pay cheque..which he in time turned his back on and started his own internet business.

He won my support based on many grounds..
1. He grew up from a humble family and that's what really kept him going (Just like i did!)
2. He has his sights on being an entrepreneur with special reference to internet businesses (Just like me!)
3. He is Asian (Hey hey..what do u tink i am?). And I really wanted to see an Asian make it against everyone else in the world.
4. He is really capable and achieved success way before he reached his 30's (Common goal..still chasing)

His name is James Sun.

in this season..the final day was left with 4 final candidates (James, Stefani, Frank, Nicole) which gone through a hell of a time to reach the final week. But although it was tough to reach the final week, some decisions that Frank and nicole made really asked for them to be fired..mixing business and emotions is no way to impress ur future boss..

So Donald Trump wasted no time in firing the 2 of them..n dat leaves Stefani and James..which really was a much tougher decision to be made compared to last yr's final 2 of Shaun and Lee..last yr's was pretty obvious..

And Donald asked people after people on who he should pick..from Ivanka..to Don. jr..to george..to the 'fired' contestants..n still it was a dilemma..n at the end of the day..Donald Trump decided... ...to fire...James Sun...which really shocked the hell out of me!

I mean all respect to Stefani..she was a gd leader from the back..but she gone under the radar e whole time..not assuming much leadership roles. N while her credentials as a lawyer is impressive..Trump can just hire one if he needs...whereas James brings with him enterprising and creativity capabilities..qualities that u need to spearhead organizations..well..Trump's reason for firing James was becos he couldnt forget something that James said during the season and I had no idea wat it was..neither did Trump reveal it..

Stefani - The New Apprentice

but my gut feel is that he will end up hiring both..I mean..James is a talent u won't want to miss. Who knows...maybe there will be a Trump tower in korea one day..

-Ivanka Trump-
Another reason to watch the Apprentice..Lol..
