7 = 4 + 3 | Final Presentation

After one full week of planning..rehearsin..stayin over nite in sch n stuffs..we were finally ready for the presentation. We met early that morn to go down to concourse to purchase helium balloons..balloons dat weren’t adequately filled with helium I feel..haha..anyway..the boys from the Singapore Boys’ Home wrote us testimonials on coloured cue cards..and dats is how the balloons come in..we wanted to fill up the room with balloons..with the testimonials tied to the end of the balloons..so that our audience can jus pull the testimonials down n read them halfway thru our presentation..

We arrived early at concourse so that we could work on the props dat we needed for our presentation. Lol..pictures say a thousand words..haha..the format of our presentation was to hold an award show..wat we call.. ‘No-bell award’..haha..in year 2060..the idea was that in year 2060..Singapore would have felt the immense effect of our Creative Learning | Character Education project to extends such that the Self-awareness Index (created by me)..otherwise known as SAI..would have risen by 90% and that Singapore will have veri low crime rate..in fact..no crime rates for the past 40yrs..Lol..resultin in numerous retrenchment of policemen..and many of them studying PhD and becoming professors in uni (dats wat my prof did..lol).

Party tools were also handed out to everyone..whistles etc..for them to cheer for us and create an atmosphere and also for them to signify them havin questions at the end of the presentation..dats y I wanted to giv the prof a spoilt one..so he cant ask qns..haha.. “we onli entertain qns that came with a whistle..kee kee kee *ernie laughter*. But everyone in the class really contributed to makin the atmosphere for us..thanks a million!..

We did the expected parts..explainin the project..results..etc..have to la..fun presentation muz come with content too. I went on to explain to them one of the games we played at the boys home..the photoframe game..which I tink I explained b4..anyway..after explainin to them..n showin them the artifact that the boys made in boys home..they started to laugh..cos it highlighted the selfishness that man tends to have (man here refers to humans..dun u gals tink u’r not selfish!)..endless dumping of NSF bfs..haha..ops..

In the presentation..we had loads of video clips..transition slides reali..videos with us doin stupid things..to keep the audience laughin n interested in our proj..we also hav flash movies courtesy of michael’s expert IT skills..(MichaelSoft^TM)..which made our presentation really flashy..we also have our team polo t-shirt..with our names..team name..and a “I love smu logo” smacked at the back. We created accessories using aluminum foils..to make us look futuristic..powdered our hair white to look old..haha..

Aloha..our emcee for the No-bell award..introduced us..(us in yr 2060..all old n rusty) “Sir Ze yan..Sir Alan..etc..and Miss Chayanait…” ..dats where I went.. “So old still ‘Miss’ ah..” and went on to do a veri sarcastic laugh..lol..dat was impromptu..n really funny..lol

We also have a video with touchin music..showin footage of the whole LTB course..CSP..n even members from other grps too..to let everyone hav a feel of ownership to the video..(nobody will pay attention if its all abt u..). To involve the class more, we started giving out awards to our TA n the prof and it was a really hilarious sight..lol..Gilbert Burger King Tan..lol..

Instead..we did the cheerleader type..the ppl climbin on ppl type..to display our teamwork and teambuilding..n b4 u ask me how many gals i supported..i’m gonna tell u..I was e one supported..haha..yeah..cos it’s the normal thing for the guys to be base..n gals to be flyers..so..we opted to challenge assumptions n did it the other way round..which is a lot harder..esp when the gals in my grp aren’t exactly athletes..haha..which all the more..demonstrates our effort and teamwork..

Although all my presentations were pretty flashy..court room scene (biz law)..Mtv talk show and g-string song (comms)..magic trick and song writing (FA)..this is about the most flashy and ‘stunt’ filled presentation I’ve ever had..since my entire life..haha..actually presentations bac den in poly were pretty boring..so..i really enjoy the presentations n proj here..hee..

But that is also the first n last time I’m doin cheerleading..cheerleading is for gals!!..n stop telling me I’m a natural cheerleader jus becos I’ve got veri gd balance!!..quit prompting me to join cheerleading..i’ll nv…haha…but cheerleading is hard la..but still…NOOOO….

I found out that I’m in diff classes from most of my LTB ppl..which is kinda sad..hai..but we’re still gonna hang out in sch..n maybe study together..n listen to some lame jokes too..lol..

Standathon Gig

Now u realize my life is actually pretty packed..haha..but actually its onli durin these couple of weeks..haha..as I’ve always said..i’ve been slackin from week 1 all the way till hm..week 13..

Sound Check

After setting up with Alvin n ben..we did a couple of test songs on the set..n arranged the sequence etc..we went bac to frujch to chill after the sound check..n I was really knockin out..n Alvin kept pesterin me to do a new song we hav nv done b4…not even rehearsed..n I din even know the chords to it..n had to learn it abt 5 mins b4 we took the stage..dat idiot..he better stop doin last min stuffs..the last min song was ‘Unwell” by matchbox20..

We were cursed by the crowd thru out the time we were on stage..haha..well..guess we asked for it..haha..when we took over the set..we started off by singing ‘superman’ by five for fighting..sayin its not easy to be them..they hav to be superman to win..So.. … ..give up!..haha..for non-SMU readers..Standathon was a competition whereby participants will compete in pairs and stand on one leg each..with the objective bein to outstand other grps..lol..den we went on to do a few other songs..n we said to them.. “u guys r probably feelin unwell..so..now we’re goin to play u a song called..Unwell..” n I heard cursin n swearing..n fingers pointed at us..haha..after that..we played an edited version of ‘chasing cars’..we shud prob call it chasin legs or something..whereby we sang “if I STAND here..if I jus STAND here..would u STAND with me..and jus forget the world”..lol..n they weren’t exactly appreciating..haha..n den we played high and dry..by radiohead..ya know.. “dun leave me high…dun leave me dry..” ..but dats exactly wat they were being left in..haha..high n dry to stand on their own.. *ernie laughter* Kee kee kee..

We also did ‘what hurts the most’ as requested by Adeline..but it was quite badly done I feel..so..maybe well do it again on our next gig..hee..we also did Creep by radiohead..ya know.. “what the hell am I doin here?..i dun belong here..I’m a Creep..” lol..more n more talks to make them quit..

After playin for abt an hr..we decided to end our set..with a veri nice song..which attracted veri much the most ‘response’..haha..we played an acoustic version of ‘Numb’ by linkin park.. “I’ve becum so numb..i cant feel my legs..become so tired..” haha..hey hey..we were high on entertainment value k..haha..but I was really really quiet on that set..was really tired..after not slpin for 3 days..haha..everyone would hav expected me to be noisy la..dunno y..i’m so quiet all along..haha..

Overnite @ SMU

After watchin the first 2 grps preent their LTB projects..we realized we really hav to outshine and outperform..Forza and the Priceless volunteers were great..on both content and also entertainment value..well..in SMU..unentertaining presentations usually go un-noticed..n we really wanted a really good presentation..to show our team bonding..afterall my LTB grp mates r my closer frens in sch..ppl I can hang out and also work with..we’re all..‘relationship oriented’ leaders..hahah..thus..we spend a lot of time bonding and our meetings r all pretty fun..with loads of jokes n stuff to laugh about.
